Here is a brief testimony of who I am and why I do what I do.
I was born in Texas on May 22. I am now 62.
My dad deserves a very honorable mention here.
He was a passionate pilot and a intelligent, positive man who loved to work and enjoy life!
Although, he did work a lot and was in the Air Force when I was younger and a crop-duster pilot later, he did take time to help me grow up & learn to make it, along with some early skills, like sitting in his lap while driving the ole Packard, or small aircraft flying near the Christ on the Mountain in Rio, with the high-flying buzzards over the large-city dump (his greater passion was soaring) or landing in a rough pasture near gran-parents house in sparsly populated blue-hills of central Texas.
Also, camping, hunting, fishing, mechanics, work-ethic, fun, ect. :)
My mother seemed happier when younger, but, later became jealous of my dad and unhappy, then bitter with life in general, later commiting suicide!
At 13, I must have inquired of my parents about this particular little Second Baptist Church and what went on there, because they gave me permission to go check it out.
Perhaps they thought it might do me some good!
I went and attended a small sunday school class composed of two other boys the volunteer teacher.
The teacher was a simple guy who was just reading from one of the Gospels. As I listened, for the first time to the life and mission of JESUS, my spiritual eyes were opened and I saw JESUS in action, healing and comforting the needy ones. I saw His power to cast out evil spirits from their victims. I felt His Powerful Compassion. So, what could I do, but, follow HIM.
As instructed, I walked to the front of that church and followed a deacon in prayer! It went something like this:
"JESUS, come into my heart and forgive my sins! I confess You as My Lord and Savior"
(note: It was years later, when I began to study the Bible, I finally realised that, that was when I was "saved". See Romans 10: 9,10)
My Calling.
The churches were not enough to show me enough about my particular mission in life, but also, I have learned that usually we each have to be planely convinced through many trials and experiences.
In high school, I became very interested in surfing and ,eventually, the hippie culture and all love revolutions and psychodelics such as mariuana and LSD.
After a couple years exciting times, more serious problems began to occurr.
We began to have problems with the Law because of our anti-system ways.
A best friend of mine was murdered by some Mexican border-mafia, while trying to buy some mariuana for friends.
I,also, ended up in jail for various other minor things and eventually was busted with some other hippies for possession of mariuana.
During this time, while out on bond and awaiting trial, I had a Very Supernatural experience with God. A kind-of-an-out-of-body experience, where I saw a Light shining in me.
After this, I went to the Bible for answers. It was there that I found out what to do with My Life!
The Word in combination with my desperate state gave opportunity for God's Spirit to speak very clearly to me:
"Deny your own selfish life and take up My cross for you, daily and follow Me". (Luke 9:23,24)
He also showed me about the "New Heaven and Earth" (Revelations chapters 21 and 22)
If fact the Bible spoke to me of a Love so great that it can solve ALL the Problems of man and women-kind if it would just be put in practice.
The Word even has very definite plans for freedom from satan and from disobedient mankind which are destroying the earth and killing innocents and persecuting the real peace and love people.
So, this is my life!
A messenger for JESUS and the Word of God.
I finally joined the best organization I could find for my level of service to God and mankind.
